Ask AI for a report

Describe the report you want and the app builds it: which issues, how to group them and what to measure. The result is an ordinary report you can change by hand.

Ask for a new report

On the home page, type a question in the box at the top and press Ask AI. For example:

  • “Story points and % done per epic in ALPHA”
  • “Hours logged last month by person and week”
  • “Open bugs by priority and assignee”
  • “Time spent in review per issue type, last 90 days”

Change the report you have

On a report, the same box changes the current report instead: “split by sprint”, “only bugs”, “as a chart”, “add remaining estimate”. Choose New report in the box to start again instead. Undo puts back what you had before.

Other purple ✦ buttons

Anything that uses AI has a purple button with a ✦:

  • Help with JQL writes or fixes the JQL for the issues you describe.
  • Explain this report sums up what stands out in the table in a few sentences.
  • Explain this number, in a cell’s issue list, says what drives that number.
  • Summarise the top risks, in things to check, picks out what matters most.
  • Changes since last week can be summarised as a short digest.

Buttons that don’t have a ✦ never use AI.

The AI never makes up numbers

The AI only writes the report’s layout. Every number is then worked out by the app from your Jira issues, with your permissions. When the AI explains a report, it is given the numbers already on your screen and asked to quote them.

Monthly allowance

Each site gets a number of AI requests a month, shared by everyone on it. The AI box shows how many are left and when they reset. Each press of a ✦ button is one request; nothing else counts.

When they run out, everything else keeps working: build reports by hand or from templates until the 1st of the next month.

A Jira admin can choose who can use AI in App settings.

What the AI is sent

Your question, your site’s project keys and status names, and, for the explain buttons, the labels and numbers in the table (such as epic names and totals). It goes through Atlassian’s Forge LLMs service, which runs the model on Atlassian’s platform; the app never sends it anywhere else. See Data and security.
