Choosing issues

Every report starts from a set of issues. Choose them under Issues at the top of the report.

Three ways to pick

  • JQL: any Jira query, e.g. project = ALPHA AND resolved >= -30d. Press Run to load it. Suggestions appear as you type, and errors are shown before you run.
  • Saved filter: search your Jira filters by name, favourites first. The report follows the filter, so changing the filter in Jira changes the report.
  • Sprint: open sprints, or any sprint by name.

Not sure how to write the JQL? Help with JQL (a purple ✦ button, one AI request) writes or fixes it from a description such as “my open bugs in ALPHA updated this week”.

Parents and children

Under Edit layout → Options → Include:

  • Parents for grouping (on by default) loads the epics and other parents of your issues, so you can group by Epic even when your JQL only finds stories. Parents loaded this way are never counted.
  • Child issues adds the sub-tasks and other children of your issues, and does count them.

The line above the table says how many issues were counted, how many children were added and how many parents were loaded only for grouping.

How many issues

A report can load up to 10,000 issues. A progress bar shows loading, and Cancel stops it. If a query finds more, the report says so: narrow the JQL, for example by project or date.

Issues load with your own Jira permissions, so you only ever see what you could see in Jira.
